New to Södertörn University?

Welcome!

This page provides help and information for new employees.

A university in the south of Stockholm

Södertörn University is a young university, with a strong focus on multidisciplinarity. We offer education and conduct research in the humanities, social sciences, technology and natural sciences, often with a multidisciplinary and intercultural profile, and collaborate with the surrounding community for sustainable societal development. We offer high quality education in disciplines such as political science, journalism, the study of religions, aesthetics, environmental science, police education, social work with an urban profile and teacher education with an intercultural profile.

We are part of Campus Flemingsberg, one of Sweden’s largest campuses, along with Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, the Red Cross University College and the Stockholm University College of Music Education, among others. We have provided a map of the campus External link, opens in new window. to help you find your way around.

1. Register a bank account

University wages are paid via Danske Bank. If your account is with another bank, you must register your account details to get your wages paid into it. If you do not do this, you will be paid with a payment slip that you will have to deposit at your bank.

Do you have a foreign address or no Swedish personal ID number? You must still register a bank account with Danske bank before payment is made. Please contact your local HR generalist.

2. Send us your tax certificate

You should send an “A-skattsedel” (A-tax certificate) to the payroll group so that the right preliminary tax can be subtracted from your pay. Send it to “lönegruppen, MA 870” in an internal post envelope.

3. Complete your personal details

The university’s payroll system is called Primula and contains most things to do with your employment. We would like you to add your personal details, such as your address and contact details for your next-of-kin.

Log in using your userID for Södertörn (SH-Account).
The password is the same as for the university networks.

4. Create an email signature

There is a template for email signatures at the university. Please use this, because a common design for our email signatures gives a coherent impression and strengthens our brand.
