Below you will find a limited selection of some of the major recurring calls from Horizon Europe as well as other international research funders. The list is continuously updated. Some details on the funding is provided here but make sure to read the funders' call texts meticulously. ERC Advanced Grant 2024 External link.
Research Grant for an established, leading principal investigator who wants long-term funding to pursue a ground-breaking, ambitious project. While no specific eligibility criteria are specified with respect to the academic requirements, applicants should be leaders in terms of originality and significance of their research contributions. You can apply for an internal planning grant for this call by April 7, 2024. Get in touch with Grants Office as soon as possible to find out more.

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships External link.
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral fellowships enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD and who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral mobility. MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to excellent researchers of any nationality. Make sure to also read the MSCA-PF Handbook External link. before applying.

European Media and Information Fund - Research Grants External link.
Three calls are currently open at the EMI fund: (1) Research for a Transparent Information Ecosystem External link., which aims to support wide and deep scientific studies on the disinformation phenomenon, encompassing its causes, societal impacts and possible responses and solutions, on a trans-disciplinary, data-driven and, where relevant, transnational basis; (2)  Media and Information Literacy External link., which aims to support initiatives that enhance digital media and information literacy skills in Europe; and (3) Investigations into Disinformation Dynamics External link., which aims to address the existing knowledge gaps on the scale and scope of disinformation in Europe and foster a better understanding of the phenomenon and its impact on European audiences. Only organisations in a consortium located in the EU, EFTA and UK are eligible to apply for these three calls.
Maximum Value: €150,000-400,000 per project (9-18 months duration)

NordForsk - Network funding for Indigenous perspectives in research External link.
Funding for 2-4 Nordic knowledge-sharing and capacity-building networks for researchers working with research relevant to Indigenous peoples and/or Indigenous research. The aim is to contribute to sustainable and ethically sound development of communities and areas where Indigenous peoples have interests. NordForsk is hosting an online webinar on May 28, 2024 from 14:00 to 15:00 that will provide insights into call themes and the application process.
Maximum value: Up to 1 million NOK for Nordic partners
Application Deadline: September 24, 2024.

NordForsk - Nordic Energy Research Mobility Programme External link.
This call aims to strengthen collaboration between researchers in energy and to promote research activities among the Nordic countries through mobility and network funding for PhD students, post-doctorates, and researchers working on Energy related themes, including Social sustainability, public acceptance, and fair distribution in the green transition.
Maximum value: 4.33 million NOK per project

NordForsk - Sustainable Development of the Arctic External link.
The call aims to support research collaboration among Nordic, Candian and American partners to bring forward new knowledge on how to ensure the sustainable development of the Arctic. This two-stage call has no thematic requirements, but projects relating to security, natural resources and societal changes are encouraged. Consortia must include partners from research-performing organisations in at least three Nordic countries.
Maximum value: 24 million NOK per project (for Nordic Partners)

Russell Sage Foundation - Research Grants External link.
Research grants are available for researchers whose research concerns the humanities, social sciences, and economics.
Maximum value: 200,000 USD (€ 182,000)

Spencer Foundation - Small Research Grants External link.
Funding to support support rigorous, intellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in education.
Maximum value: 50,000 USD

Swedish Institute - Ukraine Cooperation Programme External link.
Grants for Swedish actors and their cooperation partners in Ukraine to jointly implement projects aimed at supporting Ukraine's reconstruction, reform efforts, and EU integration in areas such as inclusive economic development, entrepreneurship and trade, human rights, democracy, rule of law, and gender equality.
Maximum Value: 3,000,000 SEK
