Illness and occupational injury – occupational health services
If you are sick, you must inform your line manager and register it in Primula on the first sick day.
If it is a long illness, you must provide a medical certificate from day 8 onwards.
When you get ill
Your first sick day is counted as a qualifying period, and is a 100% pay deduction. On the following days you receive 80% of your pay as sick pay.
When you are well again, you end your sick leave in Primula.
A long illness
For the first 14 days you are sick (except the retirement day), the university pays your sick pay, which is 80% of your salary.
If you are sick for more than 14 days in a row, the university is obliged to make a sick report to Försäkringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency).
When Försäkringskassan has received the sickness report, you can apply for sickness benefit from them. You also need to send a medical certificate directly to Försäkringskassan.
Medical benefits and allowances
You have certain healthcare benefits and allowances. For example, you may visit a doctor, occupational health care and give blood during paid working hours.
Occupational health
The university’s occupational health service is Avonova, which provides employees with advice and support on work-related issues, both physical and psychosocial.
Occupational injury and incidents
If you hurt yourself during working hours, or on the way to or from your workplace, you must report it yourself.
If you have questions, contact your manager or HR generalist.
