Commencement Ceremony, Friday 6 February

The Commencement Ceremony and staff party will be held Friday 6 February! You have received an invitation in your email – please register by 16 January!

The formal ceremony in the auditorium marks the start of the celebrations, which this year also include the installation of the university’s new vice-chancellor. Afterwards, you are welcome to a buffet dinner and party.

Dress code: Semi-formal

Talks by the honorary doctors

Last year’s recipient of the honorary doctorate, Wendy Brown External link, opens in new window., was unfortunately unable to attend. She will be with us this year instead.

This year’s recipient, Cas Mudde, External link, opens in new window. is one of the world's most influential researchers on populism and the radical right. Mudde also regularly features in public debate through interviews, popular science texts and columns. In association with the award of his honorary doctorate from Södertörn University, he will participate in a conversation with Ann-Cathrine Jungar, professor of political science.
