Disseminate your knowledge in the media!

Want to disseminate your research and reach a wider audience? The website, sh.se, now has new functions that will help researchers in their contacts with the media.

The questionnaire about the university’s research communication showed that many people think it is difficult to disseminate their research and to find researchers on sh.se. To help solve these issues, we have developed new features on the website.

Find a researcher

The website now has a “Find a researcher External link.” function, so journalists and researchers at other universities can search Södertörn’s researchers by subject, research area or keyword. The search function captures both what you have written in your researcher profile and the questions you stated you can answer.

Share your areas of expertise

Your researcher profile now has an area for telling the media which issues you can discuss. This row is below your contact details in your researcher profile.

These words are also searchable in the “Find a researcher” feature, which makes it easier for journalists to find researchers in a specific field. In this case, perhaps an expert in urban tourism.

Instructions:

  • On the employee web, click the icon in the top right and navigate to “Update profile”.
  • At the bottom, there is a heading “For researchers”. Add the areas that you can answer questions about.
  • You can have a maximum of 10 areas, and each area can have a maximum of 50 characters.
  • You can fill in your researcher profile in both Swedish and English.
  • Click “Save” when you have finished.

Join Communication and PR’s expert bank

Journalists regularly contact Communication & PR looking for expertise in a specific field for an article or feature. It is extremely helpful if we know the areas in which you would be happy to provide information, and that we have your phone number, so we can either contact you or forward your details when a journalist calls. If you want to be available to journalists via Communication and PR, please fill in "Mina expertområden" on the employee web. Remember to describe your research in lay terms using keywords, as this will make it easier for us when we are looking for a specific area of expertise.

Tell Communication and PR about your research!

Do you have any new results to share? A new project? Have you or a colleague received an award? Communication and PR’s editorial team welcomes tips about news relating to the university’s research and its researchers.

Send them to us either via nyhetstips@sh.se
